They give the staff or parents working with the children ideas too which are sometimes hard to find or come up with. 8 sets of colour activity card sets are included here. This resource links with SEN, Healthy Lifestyles, Looking after Ourselves, People who Help us, Me, Ourselves, Feelings and Literacy: reading, writing and speaking and listening. There are two communication boards - I don’t feel well and At the Hospital. I don’t feel well - this board shows children displaying a range of emotions when they are unwell. At the Hospital board - this board shows words of things/people that you might find at the hospital. There is a matching worksheet for each board where children write a word or phrase beneath the 12 colour pictures. Page 5 asks children to think of words and phrases a doctor might say to them and complete the boxes by writing in their own words. Page 6 shows a nurse instead of a doctor. Again children fill in the empty boxes with their own words or phrases. A useful resource for children who may be experiencing medical problems or may have to visit a hospital. Use together with social stories.

A set of resources with a Senses theme suitable for SEND pupils and KS1. Boardmaker symbols are included. Page 1 shows sample resources included. Pages 2/3 - A Sensory Table outline to use with the small cut out colour card collection shown on page 3. Pages 4 -7 are sets of 6 cards related to each of the senses: sound, smell, touch, taste, sight and a set of shape cards included. Cut and laminate the cards and children can use them to indicate what they see, hear, smell, taste or touch. The cards can be cut up and used together with a collection of the relevant objects that are easily accessible. You could use a feely bag, a blindfold or a box with armholes cut out for children to reach inside. The next page is a set of questions to cut out and use.
